The Scansonic HD MB5 B Floorstanding Speakers cabinet is heavy braced, curved and with solid carbon reinforcements. The speaker is crossed over at 2600 Hz and the two added side woofers assist up to 250 Hz. Powerful sound in larger rooms – from a sleek cabinet
The Scansonic HD MB5 B Floorstanding Speakers are a  tall speaker that provides powerful bass from a sleek cabinet. Three, dedicated bass woofers and a rear ported cabinet make it ideal for big-scale music in larger rooms.

Ribbon tweeters for a super-detailed top end
Featuring high-end ribbon tweeters, the MB5-B captures the most subtle detail. With a top end response stretching right up to 40,000Hz, there’s less dynamic compression, which gives you smoother, more natural harmonics for a low distortion, lifelike sound.

Carbon-coned woofers for natural mid-range
With its super-rigid, carbon-coned mid-woofers, the MB5-B delivers vanishingly low levels of distortion. The high-precision cones produce natural vocals and lifelike instruments, making these speakers amongst the most realistic-sounding in their class.

Triple punch bass
Despite their slender width, the Scansonic HD MB5 B Floorstanding Speaker’s pack a powerful punch. Featuring no fewer than three, dedicated bass drivers, the MB5 B effortless reproduces the deepest bass notes. With each cone measuring just 4.5 inches wide, though, the speaker maintains a sleek and narrow profile, giving the perfect balance between sound and style.

Premium cabinet design
The tapered cabinets are reinforced with not just internal bracing, but also a carbon insert top panel. This attention to detail ensures a remarkably ‘silent’ cabinet, letting you hear more of the music and less colouration from the cabinet.

Silk finishes
The smooth lines are enhanced by a choice of silk white or silk black finishes. For maximum stability, the speakers are fitted with outrigger feet, featuring adjustable, aluminum feet.

THE FACTORY
In Denmark Scansonic HD have our factory with skilled craftsmen. They produce some of the finest loudspeakers in the industry under the brands Raidho and Scansonic (MB series). The craftsmanship makes sure that every detail and every situation is taken care of in a very competent manner.

THE PHILOSOPHY
Having worked with Raidho speakers for more than 12 years, wthe team found themselves faced with a completely new challenge when they were asked to design a new range of high-performance speakers for the Scansonic brand, such as the Scansonic HD L-8 Active Subwoofer. From the start, they were very focused on building on all the experiences and strengths obtained from designing the Raidho speakers. At the same time, they also had to be aware of the long heritage and the Nordic design tradition of the Scansonic brand.
